Today on #mensexpleasure, I chat with Ian Collins. Ian has spent his career working with organisations on some of the riskiest frontiers to build more resilient and reliable systems that keep planes in skies, prevent oil rigs from blowing up, nuclear plants from melting down, getting people home safely to their families and keeping the environment free from harm. He now helps men learn the tools and resources to create trust and safety, taking their relationships from struggling and stagnant to being passionate, healthy, balanced and loving. On this episode of #mensexpleasure, I chat with Lana Jade. Lana is an intimacy coach as well as an adult industry coach/mentor. She has been in the industry for 7 years, and during that time she has had an incredibly successful career. Lana began in the industry as many do, desperate and in need of money to turn her dreams into a reality, and to feed her family. Lana comes from a sales and marketing background and is determined, strong willed and resourceful, so it wasn't long after working for agencies and others that she started working independently. By navigating the industry’s rapid changes, feeling overwhelmed at times, reworking strategies and systems continuously, and shifting her priorities, Lana developed a very structured and systematic way that works for her, earning her more than she has ever earned, while also having the balance she craved. On this episode of the #mensexpleasure podcast, I chat with Brad Gage. Brad is a guy who grew up in the Midwest, joined a fraternity, drank a lot, watched a lot of movies, and learned a lot of the wrong ways to treat women. And it’s not like it was exactly his fault or anything, that’s what society was telling him he should want to do. But once he started really listening to the women in his life, he realized how totally disconnected and frankly messed up all of his ideas of being a man were. So, once he recognized the problems, he set out to talk to men about it in a way that’s not preachy or shameful (because guys don’t know this stuff until they talk about it), but instead he wanted to give a little perspective and some ideas on how to replace their behaviors. Basically, he thinks it’s better for women AND men if dudes tried to dominate a little less and collaborate a little more. The two of us talk about the way men are represented in mainstream media and how these representations often perpetuate harmful stereotypes about what it means to be a man. We also discuss the importance of media literacy as well as examples of positive portrayals of men in media.
